The parish church from the outside, highlighting its historic façade and welcoming entrance

We are planning a refurbishment of the village church to create a vibrant community hub. Public art will help tell Lochwinnoch’s story and bring the building to life. We’re forming an Art Steering Group to guide this phase and ensure the project reflects our legacy and aspirations.

Role:

Art Steering Group Member

Purpose:
  • Develop a clear artistic vision for the project
  • Translate the vision into a curatorial theme to guide all artistic decisions
  • Lead the fundraising effort to secure funds for the art projects
Responsibilities:
  • Define the purpose of the art (historical celebration, future-focused, or a blend)
  • Create and refine a thematic framework (e.g., “From Field & Furnace to Future: The Spirit of Lochwinnoch”)
  • Support fundraising activities
Who we’re looking for:

We welcome applicants who bring diverse perspectives and skills.

Ideal candidates:

  • Have an interest in Lochwinnoch’s history and community future
  • Include artists, curators, educators, designers, or enthusiasts with an art background
  • Have experience in fundraising, project management, or local history
What you’ll gain:
  • A meaningful role in shaping a key community asset
  • Opportunities to collaborate with local artists, historians, and volunteers
  • The chance to contribute to a lasting landmark in Lochwinnoch
Time commitment:
  • This is a voluntary, community-led initiative. Details will be discussed during the recruitment process.
