Lochwinnoch Local Place Plan
What do you think about Lochwinnoch and its future? Renfrewshire Council is making a 10-year regional Development Plan. We are creating our own Local Place Plan (LPP) to tell the council what we think about our village’s future to shape the wider Development Plan. Your views will help us write the LPP and make visible community aims for the future.

What is a Local Place Plan (LPP?)
What is a Local Place Plan?
An LPP is our community’s vision for the development and use of land in Lochwinnoch.
For example, this could be our community’s thoughts on;
- What type, quality, and quantity of new homes are needed in Lochwinnoch?
- Suggested projects to help our place become more sustainable and deal with the impacts of climate change
- Big ideas to help make Lochwinnoch a liveable place for all its residents.
Who is creating our LPP?
Lochwinnoch Community Council and the Lochwinnoch Community Development Trust are leading the work.
But it’s your plan! We want to include ideas from everyone who has a connection to the village and its surrounds- residents, community groups, and local businesses.
How will we create it?

Research

We will gather information about what is happening in the area.

Talk to You
We will run surveys and meetings to hear your ideas
3.
Share Ideas
Ideas shared at stage 2 will be analysed to help shape ideas. We will share for further feedback.
4.
Write the Plan
We will put everything together into a draft document
5.
Final Check
We will share the draft document for one last round of comments before sending it to the council.
We aim to finish the final Local Place Plan by March 31, 2026.
What is a Community Action Plan (CAP)?
A Local Place Plan is about the land and buildings.
A Community Action Plan (CAP) is about everything else!
A CAP deals with practical community projects like:
- Organising events
- Improving community services
- Environmental projects
- And much more!
Some of your great ideas might be better for a CAP than the LPP. We will note them all down and may create a CAP after the LPP is finished.
