Lochwinnoch Community Development Trust opened the doors of the Parish Church on Gala Day, Saturday, 13 June, between 12 and 5 pm.
The team invited visitors to step inside the A-listed building for an exclusive behind-the-scenes “keek at the kirk”- a first look at the space that will one day become the Lochwinnoch Community Hub.
Despite the rain, over 230 people passed through the doors! They met the team, explored the space, and viewed the plans for future development. It was great to meet everyone and encouraging to hear good feedback and enthusiasm for the project.
In March 2025, LCDT purchased the Parish Church, with support from the Scottish Land Fund. The Trust is planning to transform the church into a creative community hub as a multi-function space. Plans include a gallery, a music and events space, and fitness and creative classes.
The planning phase is officially underway. LCDT is currently working with LDN Architects to adapt the church to meet community needs. However, project costs remain high. Despite backing from key funders, LCDT must raise an additional estimated £1 million.
A Community Hub for Lochwinnoch
The planning stage also includes regular community consultation to ensure the community hub is aligned with community needs. We are currently running a survey to ask anyone interested in booking a space what they need.

We’re gathering expressions of interest from individuals or groups who might want to hire a space in the community hub for any reason.
