There is a real buzz of activity at Lochwinnoch Men’s Shed this week as members get to work building their brand new workshop, which arrived on Friday 27 February.
Lochwinnoch Community Development Trust purchased the shed for the group with a generous £7,200 grant from the Merchants House of Glasgow.
The New Workshop
The arrival of the new workshop marks an exciting chapter for the group. Once it’s fully fitted out, the original shed will be freed up as a social space. A welcoming place where they can sit, have a cup of tea and chat through projects. Meanwhile, the new workshop will provide a dedicated workspace for members to work on projects and share skills. The members are already pulling up their sleeves, working together and making great progress.
Whether it’s woodworking, repairs, or learning something new, having a purpose-built space will make a real difference to what our members can achieve together.
Making Great Progress
The members have wasted no time getting stuck in. By working together as a team, they have already levelled the foundation and assembled the walls and roof panels.
Next Steps
But there is still plenty more to do! The next stage includes weatherproofing, fitting the windows, and laying the flooring. Every step brings us closer to opening the doors of the finished workshop, and we can’t wait to see this project take shape.
